Insular country
of the Indian Ocean, situated to the South East of the African continent,
Madagascar considered as country of the "megadiverity"
is baptized "sanctuary of the nature". More of 90% of
Malagasy plant and animal species are endemic, unique to the world.
For the preservation
of this incredible treasure represented by the fauna and the flora
against the depredation caused by the man, Malagasy Authorities
have put in place a protected Area system which management has been
confided to the National Association for the Protected Area Management
(ANGAP) .
Created in 1990 , the Angap is a Non governemental organism of support,
in charge of the animation and the management of a program for the
conservation of the Malagasy biodiverity . Its mission consists
essentially in "establish, preserve and manage in a durable
manner a national system of Park and Reserves, representative of
the biological diversity or the natural patrimony proper to Madagascar".
Each portion
of the territory (terrestrial, aquatic or marine) presenting a particular
biological , archaeological or cultural value is designated by the
State as being an Integral Natural Reserve (RNI), a National Park
(PN) or a Special Reserve (RS).
