The
Flora |
The vegetation of the Montagne d'Ambre National Park can be met between
850 and 1475 m of altitude. Its isolation within a region of dry tropical
climate makes it an always evergreen forest and consequently the water
reservoir of all the adjacent region. A botanical path that has been
created through a sector representative of the natural forest of the
park allows to appreciate all the diversity that offers the Malagasy
flora within a pluvial forest. Among the great trees the most commonly
met, the Canarium madagascariense with curatives virtues . These great
trees, as well as some more modest often constitute supports for the
epiphyt plants like the orchids Angraecum ebuneum which size can reach
one meter and that presents flowers of cream white color regrouping
on flower spike of near 80 cm. When talking about the Montagne d'Ambre
park , should not be forgottern the ferns trees , palm trees, Pandanus
, they are the most representative species
