Two hours drive from the Capital on the road to Tamatave, Mantadia - Analamazaotra Protected Area complex invites the visitor to make an enriching trip in one part of its 12.1810 ha of humid tropical forest with relief shaped by the time. Now , this park is endowed with a good system of paths that allows to see the different form of plants and animal life as well as the lakes as the Green Lake and the Red Lake. The Rianasoa, with its natural collecting system of water, is an ideal place for swim after an incursion to the sacred Cascade, an annual offering place. To facilitate the comprehension of this nature , an Environmental Center of Interpretation is put graciously at the disposal of visitors. The best period for visits is situated between September and January.

A remarkable selection of rare orchids most of them unique to the island, a rich forest of mosses and lichens with its profusion of lianas in a scenery worthy of a Tarzan film , this is by excellence the tropical universe of Andasibe park. In the course of the visit , nothing leaves to anticipate the presence of an imposing brazilian wood , a colony of China wild guava trees with red fruit, or tree ferns parasol like exceeding easily 5 to 8m of height.

Imagine a first order choir ; as opera scenery a tropical greenery theater. The singer, the female of the Indri indri high as a girl of 10 years, a strong woman of the tribe composed of 2 to 5 individuals, gives the tone. The voices increase on three themes: the rallying around the chief, the warning face to danger because of the presence of gadflys or Fosa ( one of the rare malagasy carnivorous ) and the touching hymn to love. Under the stick of the maestro, all a range of vocalize improvises going from frogs croakings to the sharp cheeptings of some thirty varieties of birds. Luminous effects are insured by the multitude of butterflies flying about a plant to an other. This spectacle of " son et lumière" , performed under the affable and protruding look of multicolored chameleons that can be real giants of 50 to 60 cm of long or on the contrary not exceeding the size of the thumb. This harmony is from time to time disturbed by the other groups of happy lemurs , hosts of the park.
